My father passed away, and my brother is giving me away. What songs can we dance to?

I’m so sorry that you’re father won’t be able to be with you on your wedding day.

It’s nice that your brother is giving you away, but keep in mind that the two of you don’t have to recreate every father/daughter tradition. You have a different relationship with your brother than you did with your father.

If you and your brother don’t want to dance together at all, you don’t have to do so. But, if you do want to share a dance, choose a song that reflects your relationship. So, instead of “Butterfly Kisses” choose something like Diana Ross’s “When We Grow Up,” about two kids, or something generic like “What a Wonderful World.”

Remember, you don’t have to do a slow dance, you could choose something fun from your childhood or teen years that you used to dance to or even something to laugh about.
